Blog #9: Steps Before September
Introduction
In September I will start my flight school training at Silverhawk Aviation Academy. Today’s blog will go over the steps I need to take to be prepared when I start in September
Step 1: Financing
Silverhawk is a partner with Sallie Mae Loans. You can visit the Sallie Mae website and fill out an application, in 24 hours you will hear back from them regarding your eligibility to take out loans. When it comes to paying back your loans you can have fixed or variable interests. There are three options you can do while you are going to flight school. Option 1 is to make interest-only payments while in school. Option 2 is to pay a fixed amount each month while in school. Option 3 is to make no payments until after school. I will probably go with option 3 so I do not have to worry about paying anything while I am training.
Step 2: Find Housing
After I graduate in May I am going to start looking for housing. I do not know a lot about Caldwell so I will have to do some research on the town and where I should live. I would also be open to living in Nampa and Meridian.
Step 3: Get Materials
Before starting I will need to obtain materials such as textbooks, an Ipad, headsets, or log books. These materials will be crucial for my success in training.
Conclusion
These are the three steps I will need to take before September to set myself up for success.
